‘Gurt’ the Yurt

Need a digital detox?

Turn off, unplug and enjoy a relaxing break away with your loved one.  Our lovely yurt is located on a working free range egg farm in Ditchling, nestled in the woods along a bramble path by a pond.

‘Gurt’ is furnished with a wrought iron bed with beautiful hotel quality linen and a super comfy feather duvet and log burning stove.  There is also a table with chairs, and a dressing table.

Kids in Tow?

We can set up one or two single camp beds for your children.  We can even supply you with excellent quality sleeping bags if you don’t have any.

Around the yurt

There is plenty of space outside the yurt for setting up your fire pit, gathering your log stools together and sitting amongst the stars.  A regularly cleaned compost toilet is down a short path in the woods (we even check for spiders-but we can’t always get them all).

The main campsite at Macs Farm has lovely shower and washing facilities so you can get ready and head straight over to the ‘Mac shack’ in the main camping field, which serves afternoon tea and cakes,  local beers, wines and delicious cocktails, so you can sit back and watch the sun set in the evenings!

(open most weekends throughout the season, please check with the farm for specific dates).

Location – The Mac’s Farm, Ditchling

The beautiful South Downs village of Ditchling, near Brighton, is just a short, delightfully scenic walk away from the Macs Farm. It has two lovely pubs, The Bull and The White Horse Inn, and a really great tea room and coffee shop. The Larder can cater for all your needs with fresh bread, cakes and essentials including some really good wine and beer. Ditchling Museum is well worth a visit, give them a shout to see what they have going on the weekend you visit.

If you are feeling energetic, we are only half a mile from Ditching Beacon so bring your bikes, or walking shoes, and go and explore the South Downs National Park and South Downs Way, the view from the top of the Beacon on a clear day is spectacular. Brighton is only 10 minutes on the train from Hassocks or a quick car ride away.

N.B. As this is a working farm, there is a curfew for any music or loud noise at 10pm sharp. It is definitely not a site for the more raucous hen. We want to keep this beautiful camping area a place for everyone to enjoy and we would not wish to upset any of the neighbours.
