Grittenham Barn – a fabulous wedding venue in the heart of West Sussex

Grittenham Barn is a traditional stone Sussex barn with breathtaking views over the South Downs. It has been immaculately restored and features a stunning central fireplace. Grittenham is set in the heart of the West Sussex countryside between Petworth and Midhurst. The site predates the 17th Century and is mentioned in the Domesday Book The barn, farmhouse and outbuildings are Grade II listed and this beautiful property set in stunning gardens with a lake, orchard and woodland.

About Grittenham Barn

The barn is fully dedicated to your wedding from the day before to midday the day after your wedding. For a Saturday wedding, that means you have all of Friday to setup and till 11am Sunday to pack up.

The barn seats 120 people comfortably or 250 standing. They operate an all-inclusive price policy.

The following are included in the hire of Grittenham Barn:

  • 120 Lime ash Chivarri chairs with cream seat pads
  • 12 x 5’6 Round tables
  • 6 Trestle tables
  • 1 Easel for tables plan
  • 1 Coat rail with hangers
  • Inside fairy lights
  • Outside fairy lights
  • Fairy curtain at the bottom end of the barn
  • Disco ball
  • Outside festoon lighting by donkey’s paddock
  • Car park light
  • Outside bistro furniture
  • Inside Chill Out furniture
  • Fire basket

You can also hire a traditional oval marquee (30ft x 18ft) to set up in the courtyard creating additional space adjacent to the barn giving shade on a hot day or shelter on a wet day.

Much of the grounds are yours for the day and there are many beautiful and secluded areas for drinks, photography or merely sitting and soaking up the atmosphere.

Grittenham Barn are are licensed for civil ceremonies.

The barn is a beautiful place to have your ceremony with it’s high roof and traditional iron chandeliers which can be adorned with flowers. Choose to have a roaring fire to greet your guests or specialised lighting to create the atmosphere that you want for your ceremony.
